Straw

Straw is essential in livestock farms as a bedding material.

Characteristics

The process we use allows the straw to be chopped to different lengths.

Our equipment extracts dust and removes foreign matter from the straw, making it more healthy than traditional field-processed straw and minimising potential causes of infections to the airways of the animals or to the mammary organs of dairy cows.

The prior chopping also facilitates mechanical spreading of the straw, with substantial savings in energy and consequent economic benefits.

Data sheet

The processed straw is packaged in high-density bales to obtain the highest possible weight per bale, optimising transport and storage.

Straw pellets can be of different sizes to meet the customer’s request.

In some cases, they can be a valid alternative to the chopped product, depending on the type of stabling.

Pellets can be supplied whole (6-8 mm) or crushed, making them more absorbent.

The average weight of small straw bales, depending on their format, is between 30 kg and 60 kg.

Small bales are useful if they need to be moved manually.

They can be supplied in blocks of 18 pieces.
