Using dehydration, SO.PR.E.D. processes not just alfalfa but also forages from mixed meadows composed prevalently of spontaneous native grasses (such as Lolium, Festuca and Phleum) and clovers. These types of forages are harvested prevalently with a first cut (May cutting) on flat ground and/or on permanent hillside meadows. The type of dehydrated forage obtained from them has a significantly lower protein content than alfalfa. Nevertheless, this feed is suitable for livestock in the fattening stage (cattle, sheep or goats) or maintenance stage (horses and stud animals).
